Ergonomics Problem Solved!

Chembio Diagnostics, a leading supplier of medical diagnostic kits, came to Mini-Mover Conveyors looking for a worker ergonomics solution. Their goal was to minimize chances of repetitive-motion injuries by making it easier for workers to pick parts off a conveyor for inspection and packaging.

Solution: Our sales engineers suggested a Lite Series conveyor which, as an integral part of its design, has a product guide that extends 0.60 inches above the belt surface. This built-in guide is high enough to keep the kits on the belt, but low enough to ease retrieval from the conveyor. We also developed a special table-top stand for this application. This stand would allow the conveyor to be canted upward, up to a 40-degree angle, toward the operator.

Result: The ergonomics goal was achieved by our customer, who continues to operate these same machines today. For the special stand we design, we thank Chembio and many other customers who come to us with a problem the need that results in creative and collaborative solutions. We now offer the stand as a standard accessory in our product line today.
